3 Must-Know Childrenswear Trends For Spring

By Mollysims.com

If you have little ones at home, your obligatory spring wardrobe refresh probably extends through to your kids’ closets as well. For those who are looking to add some fresh finery to your mini-me’s repertoires, you’ll want to consider the main trends for spring — many of which, according to the authoritative voices in the children’s-sphere, actually trickled down from the runways. Sylvana Ward-Durrett and Luisana Mendoza de Roccia, co-founders and CEOs of childrenswear marketplace Maisonette, walked us through their favorite styles this season.

When delineating what will be the next must-have silhouette for kids, Ward-Durrett and Mendoza de Roccia take a holistic approach, sourcing inspiration from a myriad of places. “We look all over: the world around us, the trends coming out of fashion week(s), street style — even life through COVID,” the duo tells MollySims.com. They drew on these when rounding out Maisonette’s robust assortment for Spring 2021 — and also while designing pieces for their in-house label, Maison Me. The styles they’ve shared with us borrow design codes from the catwalks, while also factoring in their personal experiences with motherhood.

Browse the most idyllic childrenswear pieces for spring ahead:

1.

Florals & Liberty Prints

“We always love a floral — and have some gorgeous liberty prints coming in Spring,” the duo shares. Both Maison Me and the stockist’s other brands wield a mix of joyful micro-prints that are something to shout about. Try print-mixing by layering a paisley sweater with a floral dress, or vice versa.

2.

Comfy-Cozy Cotton Sets

This one’s for the super little ones. “Early days can be so overwhelming for parents,” share the duo. “We wanted to take some of the stress out of dressing your littlest ones by offering a collection of essentials: totally mix-and-matchable organic cottons in the sweetest and easiest silhouettes.”

“From the Maison Me Baby collection, we’re loving the Jones Sweat Set, Eden Ruffle, Pointelle Sets, and Wilson coverall. These pieces are made to effortlessly combine cozy & chic and will quickly become baby essential favorites.”

3.

Radiant Yellows

“In terms of color, we’re loving all the yellow we saw on the runways — feels super optimistic and modern. And boys and girls alike will love a pop of sunshine as days get longer and temperatures warm up.” As far as which sunshine-soaked silhouette they’re gushing over for spring, they have a favorite picked out: “The Esme Jacket! It’s a must-have for in-between weather and comes in an adorable floral print, it’s been a bestseller this season.”
