The First 30 Minutes of My Day: Gucci Westman

By Gucci Westman

With 20 years of makeup artistry under her belt, Gucci Westman has made a name for herself in the “no-makeup makeup” world. She’s worked with some of the biggest names in fashion and Hollywood and known for her glowy and dewy looks– including our favorites, Jennifer Aniston, Cameron Diaz, Gwyneth Paltrow, and our very own, Molly Sims.

We decided to ask this makeup and beauty expert how she sets up her morning to have the most productive day possible. Here’s what Gucci does to kickstart her day.

6:00 AM.

I generally wake up around this time. Before anything, I practice Transcendental Meditation. Even just a few minutes of it really helps set me in the right direction for the day.

6:10 AM.
I like to start making breakfast for everyone while my husband, David, starts waking up our children. The kids love blueberry pancakes, crepes with Nutella or scrambled eggs with sliced avocado. I alternate between two breakfasts for myself, either a shake or gluten-free toast. For the shake, I use Clean Daily Shake powder, wild blueberries, almond butter, oat milk and then I’ll add in any supplements I feel like I need. Moon Juice’s Collagen protect has been a long-standing favorite of mine. If I want something a bit more substantial, I’ll toast Bread SRSLY’s gluten-free sourdough and top it with almond butter, wild blueberries, a touch of honey, and cinnamon. For a little caffeine hit, I like to make a homemade almond milk latte.

6:15 AM.

I like to review my calendar and check my emails and texts while having my breakfast. As a makeup artist and founder of Westman Atelier, my schedule is completely different every day! One day I’ll be testing product and shade submissions, reviewing new R&D and packaging components, and the next I’ll be filming content for our Youtube channel. It’s always a whirlwind but it’s incredibly exciting. I take what our customers say to us about our products to heart– it drives me to create products that are clean, luxurious, and joyful!

6:20 AM.

I feel so much better if I make time to exercise. I love Taryn Toomey’s The Class. It completely resets my energy and my mind. I always feel so grounded and ready to tackle the day afterward. After exercising, I go into my morning skincare routine. I really switch it up depending on the season and what I feel like it needs. I start by cleansing with Mother Dirt Cleanser. If my skin is feeling dull, I use Volition Beauty’s Apple Cider Vinegar Resurfacing Peel Pads. Next, I’ll pat Aurelia’s Revitalize and Glow Serum into my skin. It’s packed with probiotics so it really helps balance my skin. I’ll finish with either Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream or Dr. Hauschka Rose Day Cream. No matter what I’m doing that day, I have to wear our Vital Skin Foundation. I suffer from rosacea so I made this with my own skin wish list in mind! It’s a luxurious cream formula packed with safe, skin-nourishing actives that soothe and calm my skin. It leaves my skin feeling and looking radiant.
