All Paint is NOT Alike

So as you all know I love me some decorating. But what some of you may not know is that I am also a paint fanatic. I know, I know, most people would rather be fanatical about shoes or accessories and TRUST ME, I’m obsessed with those things too. But paint, paint has a special place in my heart.

There is nothing quite like paint. Nothing can transform a room from a white box that feels like it’s caving in on you quite like a quick lacquer of paint. Nothing lets you express your creativity on walls like paint. Really, paint is an extension of your personality. It is a little piece of you that lives on your wall….forever.

Paint isn’t really a subject for those with a fear of commitment. No, paint is something that you have to love enough to be happy each day when you see it smiling back at you from your walls. Paint is something that should remain consistent no matter what new throw pillow you bring home.

There is so much that goes into picking the perfect shade. Say you want to paint your living room gray. Well that’s just the first step. Next you have to pick which shade out of the 500 available is the right gray for you. Then you have pick your base. Eggshell? Matte? Glossy? And if that isn’t enough you can then toy with the ideas of having an accent wall. See, the possibilities are endless.

These reasons are why I was really excited to see Jeff Lewis’ new color line at Dunn-Edwards. I think he’s done a great job of weeding through the unnecessary 500 grays to hone in on a few grays that will make you feel all warm and fuzzy each time you lay eyes on it. So grab your pantone paint wheel for inspiration and get to paintin‘!

Here are a few of my favorites, let me know what your fav paint colors are!
