Lipstick on the Rim: OMG You Need That’s Hally Seminara on the Best of Fall Fashion: High, Low and Everything In-Between

By Mollysims.com

If you know anything by now, you know we love a good best friend duo. And when taken to the next level? A best friend duo in business together. Meet Hally Seminara, one half of “OMG You Need That,” who specializes in helping women find all the things they didn’t know they need—sartorially speaking, of course. Her other half, Lauren Vreeland, was with us in spirit, gabbing all things fashion. From integrating sparkle into your wardrobe to finding the best statement pieces on a budget, Hally shares her master list of everything you need this fall—just don’t forget to make a little extra room in your closet.

[Hally] On Fashion Essentials

“A few great pairs of jeans are so important—I love Agolde, Re/Done, and Khaite. Re/Done does a great trend jean but my all time favorites are Nili Lotan. Levi’s are such a great price point—the mile high skinny and the wedgie icon. Emese and I fell in love with The Row pant with the slit in the front. It’s the perfect working mom pant that makes you look professional but chic, and are perfect when you don’t want to wear a dress. They’re the best investment. I’ll wear those pants with a slingback or loafer. A great white tank and cool blazer, everyone needs. I love a loafer. I’m still a huge fan of my Gucci ones. Right now, I’m obsessing over the Celine loafers. I also think it’s important to invest in a party shoe—that really is your best accessory. You can just wear a black dress with them and instantly look chic. Also, a clean and modern sneaker in terms of everyday footwear is what we’re trending towards.”

[Hally] On Fall Trends

“One of the biggest trends we’re seeing for Fall is the white tank. It was on the Prada runway, it was on the Givenchy runway. I’m not going to invest in the Prada tank so the Target tank which is $8 is the best. We know not everyone has a disposable income. We’re definitely seeing the lug sole loafer into fall. We’re seeing really fun colors—neons in a sophisticated way. If you don’t want to wear a full neon suit, wear a neon blazer over a tank. A bold shoulder—last year was more about the ‘90s, I think we’re going back to some ‘80s vibes. The knit set is the trend that keeps on trending.”

[Hally] On the Best Fashion Dupes

H&M, Mango, and Zara have such good options. We call it “Mango Ortiz”—I’m so obsessed with Johanna Ortiz but I can’t buy everything from her collections. It’s not the exact same print but Mango does a really similar version that achieves the same thing. I find Zara has the best blazers for under $80. Ganni had the best dupe last spring for a great loafer. There are definitely options out there. We’re good at recognizing when it’s worth it to splurge. We love finding sales and hate paying pull price for anything.”
