We discuss why bone broth heals and refurbishes our bodies, anti-aging hacks that won’t break the bank & why you need to add lime to your lemon water. She’s sharing why the first thing you eat in the morning sets the tone for your entire day and exactly what she eats in a day. If you’re looking for a body reset, this episode is for you.

[Dr. Kellyann] On The Powers of Bone Broth

Dr. Kellyann starts the episode by sharing that she has been studying and practicing health and wellness for 2 decades and, “she has never seen this type of nutrition magic,” until she found bone broth. She goes on to say that, “bone broth is a huge part of health and beauty, and we have to build foundational beauty,” and that is was bone broth does for the body.

“Bone Broth is the best thing for craving and crashing, diet, plumping and lifting skin.”

The 3 things that make bone broth so powerful are: gelatin, glycine and how low calorie it is. Kellyann explains, “the gelatin in bone broth is truly a whole food gelatin. It’s good for hair, skin, nails and teeth. It has amino acids. Beauty is about constantly upbuilding. We have to constantly recycle and refurbish, and you can do that through bone broth. Glycine is why bone broth is magic. It provides you with restored sleep it energizes you and also makes you feel relaxed.”

[Dr. Kellyann] Tips On Incorporating Bone Broth In Your Diet

“The easiest way to start incorporating bone broth in your everyday life would be to have 2 mugs a day. The strict way would be the way I do it. I always have a pot of bone broth on my stove and I have learned how to build a plate of foundational foods around that. I have the basic foundational food 80% of the time and 20% of the time I have fun with food. I have cocktails. I go to parties. I have fun. It’s really about what you do most of the time.”

“You have to choose joy over pain to be beautiful”

[Dr. Kellyann] On What She Eats in A Day

“I wake up every morning and do a body scan, how am I feeling today. I have learned to pay attention to my body and then assess what I should do for the day. I have learned to take control and command of my body. In the morning, I delay eating as long as possible. I love eggs and avocado. They put me in such a good frame for my mind.

“The first thing that you eat in the morning sets the stage for the entire day”

“I try to incorporate lots of Omega 6 and Omega 3 Fatty Acids. They build your cellular membrane and will make your skin like a bouncy ball, so I try to eat a lot of salmon, sardines or fatty fish. My motto is, Nutrition in and toxins out.

[Dr. Kellyann] On Collagen

Dr. Kellyann says to think of collagen as, “up-tight and lifted. After the age of 20, we start breaking down our collagen – we now have ways to replace it. Collagen doesn’t have all the nutrition but it does have that great upbuilding protein and the power to heal your gut. The easiest way to get it in your diet is through powders, you can add it to your coffee or smoothies. But you should be having it daily. Think, ‘What do I already do that I can attach it to?'”

[Dr. Kellyann] On 7 Anti-Aging Hacks That Won’t Break The Bank

1.

Lemon & Lime Water

“I love lemon water because you can put it in your body every day, and it will give your body a mild cleanse. It makes your eyes bright and clear. Lime helps make everything work. It stabilizes your blood sugar which is amazing.”

2.

Exercise

“You have to exercise. Exercise is the best medicine we have. It creates oxygen flow to your whole body.”

3.

Deep breathing

Deep breathing is an energy hack. What everyone needs to understand is that we have 5 lobes to our lungs, and we have to push air to the lowest part of our lungs which a lot of us never do. We have breath awareness and take deep breaths.”

4.

Cinnamon and Tumeric

“Cinnamon and Tumeric should be everywhere. Turmeric increases your brain cells and is super easy to incorporate in your diet.”

5.

Track Your Blood Sugar

Kellyann shares that she has been obsessed with tracking her blood sugar. She wears hers throughout the day and recommends if you have sugar, have it from sources in the raw form of fruit-flavored items.

6.

Intermittent Fasting

“Intermittent Fasting regulates your blood sugar. I recommend for 2 non-consecutive days a week sip on bone broth and then eat dinner. Make sure you have protein, fibrous carbs & fat (drizzle oil or avocado).”

7.

Healthy Fats

“In order to burn fat you have to eat fat. You just have to eat the right kind of fat. Avocado, salmon, nuts and seeds, olive oil drizzled, macadamia nut oil, coconut chips are all great options to crush cravings.”

[Dr. Kellyann] On Diet Coke, Kombucha & Coffee

“Diet Coke is dead to me. If you need to drink soda, drink Zevia. Kombucha has a lot of gut health benefits if there isn’t a lot of sugar. I love matcha. It gives a slow and steady lift and it is great for anti-aging. Caffeine can be very beneficial. It is great for thought and for creativity. The half-life is the amount of time it takes for a substance to leave your body. Don’t have caffeine past noon or whatever your threshold is. Caffeine is a positive force if used right.”
