Lori Bregman’s Post Birth Healing Pads

Whether you have a c-section or deliver vaginally, both come with their own healing process and methods.

I may have delivered through c-section but I felt like it was a MUST to share this natural post-birth healing recipe from my holistic pregnancy coach, Lori Bregman. This girl knows her stuff, people. Fertility smoothie, anyone? She’s amazing.

For the sake of not getting too gruesome here, let’s just say that after vaginal birth your nether regions need a little more TLC than usual. BTW–I would have called them private parts but after we have babies…it doesn’t really seem like that anymore. Ha! Okay, moving on.

Introducing Lori’s Post-Birth Healing Pads. Her recipe is full of ingredients that reduce inflammation/swelling and help speed up the healing process. These are super simple and can be whipped up pre-delivery so you can have them on hand when you arrive home!

What You’ll Need:

  • Organic panty liners
  • Witch hazel
  • Organic lavender essential oil
  • Vitamin E oil
  • Comfrey root leaves
  • Tea stainer or tea bag
  • Aloe vera gel
  • Saran wrap

Directions:

STEP 1: Bring a small pot of water to a boil and turn the heat off

STEP 2: Place 1/2 cup of comfrey leaves in a tea bag or tea stainer and let it sit for a good 30 min or more (I let sit for a long time to make it good and strong!)

STEP 3: Add 10 drops of liquid Vitamin E oil and 2 drops of lavender oil

STEP 4: 1/3 cup of witch hazel and 1/3 cup of aloe gel to water. Mix and stir it all together.

STEP 5: Dip and coat the mixture in the entire panty liner. Wrap individually in Saran Wrap.

Stack them and place in the freezer to use at your convenience! Use up to 4 times a day for the first few days home from birth. Place extra liquid in a spray or squirt bottle and keep by the toilet to use after as a healing spray.
