A Delicious Detox Soup For Fall

Since I’m pregnant, I have the weirdest cravings in the world. Recently, I’ve been craving lots of soup and hot chocolate. I know that sounds like a strange combination but it’s extremely comforting… even if you aren’t pregnant and massive.

Recently, over on Claire Thomas’ (aka The Kitchy Kitchen’s) YouTube channel, I shared a soup recipe that I’ve been making for years. It’s healthy, delicious, and includes ingredients perfect for when you feel bloated and blah. And, when you’re pregnant–that’s often!

Even if you’re not pregnant–this soup is perfect for lunch or dinner. It’s super light, packed with vitamins and minerals, low in calories… with no fat.

So, what makes it a delicious detox soup? Get the details below:

GREENS: The spinach and asparagus in this soup is full of chlorophyll which rids the body of environmental toxins and aid in liver detoxification. If you’re not a huge spinach fan, any leafy green will do.

QUINOA: I love adding quinoa to just about everything. Yes, they contain carbs but they contain fewer carbs and calories because they are high in fiber and protein. Fiber is what keeps you feeling fuller and satisfied longer which is always the goal! Brown rice, millet, spelt, or whole wheat pasta are also high-fiber choices.

CAYENNE PEPPER: A pinch of cayenne can do serious miracles to your metabolism. It’s also great for your immune system! If you’re not a fan of spicy food, no worries. You can barely taste it in the soup!
