This month over at Style Me Pretty I’m sharing my secrets on kissing beautifully in pictures. Wedding photography is a huge part of your day and something that will be treasured for years to come!
Now here’s a recap:
Okay, people. It’s pretty simple. NOBODY wants to see tongue in any way, shape, or form on this magical day. Please don’t drive Grandma Jean to an early grave with an overly sloppy wedding kiss. For your wedding, think sweet and romantic like a scene in a soap opera. If you are dying for a grand gesture, go for a big ballroom dip. There will be plenty of time for those sexy kisses later in the honeymoon suite. Just kidding! You’ll be way too exhausted for that.
For the pictures in particular, there are simple things you can do to ensure perfection. When it comes to posing with your partner, there should be no mushed faces. Nobody looks good squished. Rather than giving a real kiss, go for a peck. Once again, think soap opera!
Speaking of mushed, watch your arms. Even if you have to practice this, make sure no one is pushing down on each other’s arm fat! I mean, come on. Let’s be honest! Nothing is worse. Holding each other gently and leaving some space in between you will help.
Some of my favorite wedding pictures with Scott were in a more intimate setting. Make sure you and your new spouse take some quiet time with your photographer to capture those sweet moments. For example, I love a walking away picture while holding hands and looking back at the camera.
Even though Scott makes fun of me for this, it definitely takes practice. Especially when it comes to knowing each other’s best sides and getting comfortable in front of the camera. Even though this may sound silly, these pictures will last a lifetime and you want to be happy with them!
Now before I kiss you all goodbye, here’s a recipe for my favorite lip scrub that will have your lips kiss ready. This lip scrub is great for sloughing off dead skin and giving your lips the moisture they need. I use grape seed oil as it is high in antioxidants and is heavenly for your skin.
Kissable Lip Scrub
- Place all ingredients in a bowl and mix together well. If your mixture is too crumbly, add a bit more oil. Too runny, add a bit more sugar.
- Rub this magic on your lips and your pucker will be ready for wedding day perfection!
If you aren’t a DIY gal, I suggest this amazing lip scrub by Sara Happ.
