I’m back with Style Me Pretty must-have tips for your wedding day. Today’s topic is all about how to get flawless and long-lasting (and kissable!) lip color for your special day. Along with your gorgeous gown and hairstyle, your lip color is an important part of your wedding day look. From the pictures to the ceremony to the reception, there’s a perfect color for every occasion.

Now, here’s a recap!

To get a flawless lip color, you MUST start with dry lips. Take some tissue paper and blot down your lips making sure there is no moisture. If there is moisture, the color will not stay on and will feather off.

To start lining your lips, stretch out your lips taut to make sure you can really see the lines of your lip and follow your natural lip line. Take another tissue paper and blot down lip line. If you don’t feel you have a good line, blot off and start over. It’s better to go a little inside the lip than line way outside. It’s important to always make sure there is no added moisture because it’s easy to fix mistakes if dry. Take a powder brush and dip in translucent powder and take piece of tissue paper and blot. Take powder brush and powder through paper. Take excess powder off.

Next, start applying lipstick and then gloss. You want natural long lasting color that isn’t too dry. Add another layer of powder right at the last moment and then hit the gloss! You will do this powder trick 2 times. I like to gloss it up with with Sara Happ The Lip Slip: One Luxe Gloss on top.

You can wear any color that makes you feel good but remember you will look at these pictures years from now so don’t go TOO bold and crazy. But you also should feel free to wear different looks for every part of your special day.

I love rose colors. Charlotte Tilbury has a perfect nudey pink in her K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick in Stoned Rose. It’s the perfect nude because it still gives you color without washing you out. The Charlotte Tilbury Lipcheat lipliner in Pillow Talk complements the color really well. It’s a pretty universal color but if you want something a little brighter, Nars has a beautiful coral pink in a color called Niagara which looks amazing on tan skin. Line with Nars Velvet Matte lip pencil in Bolero.

Take it from day to night for your reception in a dark rose lip like the amazing rose color Bite Beauty called Pepper. I also love this brand because it contains all natural food grade ingredients that are sooooo moisturizing. MAC lipliner in Whirl looks really good with it. Drew Barrymore’s makeup line, Flower, has an amazing Plum color in Berry Bloom that has a nice glossy shine to it. She also has a lip liner in the same color. Her products are also super budget conscious which is a plus!

There’s definitely a perfect pout for every wedding occasion…day or night! Stay tuned for more wedding themed videos with me, AOL and Style Me Pretty…
