Valentine’s Day DIYs

Both sets of Brooksie’s grandparents do not live locally, so I wanted make sure to send an extra special delivery their way for Valentines Day.  I did my duty as a #Supermomma and scoured Pinterest for some crafty inspiration. I also remembered how much Scott loved his “hands-on” Father’s Day gift we made him last year and knew that was exactly the direction I needed go.

This super sweet Valentine’s Day DIY ticks all the boxes.  It is a perfect memory keepsake of my little Boo’s hands, plus it’s inexpensive and easy to make which is perfect for busy Mommas. I mean, who wouldn’t be completely smitten with this DIY card?!? Let me show you how easy this card is to make…

Supplies Needed:

  • 1 sheet of red poster paper
  • 1 sheet of white poster paper
  • Invisible tape
  • Scissors
  • Black Marker
  • Sheet of Stickers for decoration (but can use markers, crayons, glitter, etc. to adorn your card)

Trace your little’s hands on top of the red construction paper.  (Use your first set of hands as your template to make multiple cards!!) Cut white construction paper into strips and attach to hands with invisible tape.  Use black marker to write Valentine’s Day messages and decorate with stickers and crayons.  Fold the white strip connecting the hands like an accordion.  (So reminiscent of those paper fans we made back when we were in school!!)

Now for a little Valentine’s Day door bling: I simply took a grapevine wreath (that cost a whopping $4.95 from my local craft store) and broke out my trusty glue gun to add a few glittery hearts and ribbon.  It couldn’t have been easier and I love the thrifty price point. What I like most about this wreath is the mix of rustic and glam.  Doesn’t it really pop on my front door?  It makes me smile every time I come home.  What are you crafting up for Valentine’s Day?  Tell me Everything!!!
