Theatre Antics: Statement Sweaters & Strappy Heels

carrie premiere I love, love, love a good movie night, especially when that means I get to dress up a little bit as well. The way I look at it, there's a fine line when it comes to prepping an outfit for an evening out at the movies - whether it's a date night with your significant other or a girls night with your closest gal pals. You want to appear put together and stylish, but not so pinned and tucked that it's uncomfortable to sit for hours on hours in a theatre. Add to that the blasting AC and well, let's just say the sundress which was perfect for an afternoon spent running errands and picking up a Detox 2 at Pressed Juicery won't be so perfect twenty minutes into your movie of choice for the night.

I was OB-sessed with my look from Monday night's premiere of Carrie. My love, Joey Maalouf (left), came over to help me prep for the evening with my boy Stuber. As bold and outgoing as my Sass & Bide sweater is with the combination of orange and sparkles, these cropped black pants from The Row totally tone it down to a manageable statement. Add a pair of strappy Schutz sandals that'll take you from balmy summer nights to fall evenings with a hint of chill and you're good to go - even if the movie turns into a dinner afterwards and then drinks following!

I shopped a few of my favorite statement sweaters below. They're fancy enough so you'll feel stylish no matter what the destination, but comfortable enough that you'll want to cozy up in them even when you get home from your evening out!
