Spring Nail Trends At Varnish Lab
Another season, another trend! This year, at Fashion Week, designers brought us inspiration on the fashion AND beauty front—especially nails. These days, it’s not just a great color that makes the trend. It’s the nail art and designs! I had to try them out for myself.
Since I’m not even close to being a nail artist, I left the designs to the experts. I recently came across a brand-new nail salon in my area called Varnish Lab. The salon, located in Playa Vista, CA, is quickly becoming my new OB-session. I’m all about the aesthetic so Varnish Lab’s bright hues and modern design have got me hooked.
Once I picked my colors (there are hundreds!) I showed the girls my inspiration. And, as you’ll see, they mastered them perfectly! If you live in the Los Angeles area or just visiting, stop by Varnish Lab and ask for Ann or Neisha to try these trends:
Colored French Tip
Remember how big of a trend the classic white French tip was? Well, now it’s back—but in a colorful variation.

A lot of nail polish lines have come out with matte colors but if you don’t find your preferred color, don’t worry. Any polish on the planet can be finished off with the matte topcoat just as you would with a normal sheen. I chose a lavender shade from OPI in “Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around” and finished it off with OPI’s Matte Topcoat.

Whether you include a hint of glitter at the top of the nail or have it adorn the bottom, this trend is subtle enough for everyday wear.

Nude & Black
This wasn’t on the runways, but that doesn’t make it any less of a trend. My friend actually had her nails like this a few weeks ago—and I was OB-sessed. There’s just something so sleek about a great nude polish and black combined. The triangles add an artistic touch!
