If you’re a sushi fanatic like I am, then take heed. I, of all people, know how tempting it can be to eat fish every day of the week. Hey, it’s a lean protein, contains good-for-you Omega 3s and most of all, it’s DE-licious! But get this: your seafood habit could be dangerous. The scary truth is that nearly all fish contain traces of mercury pollutants nowadays. And when a girlfriend of mine recently wound up with a severe case of mercury poisoning, I really realized the gravity of the situation.
Now this doesn’t mean that you have to stop eating seafood hook, line and sinker! Just try to keep your seafood consumption to two meals a week, be sure to check local advisories frequently and follow this handy-dandy chart the rest of the time:
