Take a Peek Inside My House!

I love to mix and match.

In jewelry, I love mixing metals. In fashion, I love mixing high and low end. In decor and design, I love mixing styles and pieces to create one cohesive look.

The house that I owned in Hollywood Hills (which I sold a few years ago) was the epitome of my mix and matchy-ness. An ode to Hollywood regency with both modern and vintage splashes with family heirlooms sprinkled on top. I was organizing all my photos recently and came across the photos we took before the house was sold and thought it would be fun to give a tour of the house that once was.

Welcome and come on in…

One of my favorite pieces in this space is the antique mirrored bench under the arched window. The flooring throughout most of the upstairs living space was terra cotta tile that I had stained a dark color. I loved that faux hide, but so did my Yorkie babies. Let’s just say they won that battle. Dry cleaning could not save that bad boy.

This is the powder room off the entry. The space was pretty tiny so I opted for a small concrete trough for the sink. My favorite element of this room is the small chandelier style light fixture. I loved it so much that it moved with me and now lives in my bedroom closet!

I have a bit of a chandelier addiction. I got my chandeliers at the Marche aux Puces St-Ouen de Clignancourt one of the most famous flea markets in Paris. Definitely somewhere to add to your list of places to explore if you are ever there.

The living and dining room are divided by a large fireplace that allows for a clear definition to each of the spaces. The dining table has a very clean and modern feel where the chairs have an antique vibe. Mix and matching at its finest. The extremely tall armoire behind the dining table is one of my favorites. I had to have a few inches taken off the bottom of the piece for it to fit into my current home. It is perfect for holding dishes, vases and serving pieces.

The master bedroom has the strongest Hollywood Vintage influence. I had the closet door finishes added to add interest and give an extra layer of dimension.

The master bath is marble chic with lots of natural light. The bathtub is perfect for soaking the cares of the day away.

The kitchen is smallish but I think we used the space wisely. Lots of cabinets for storage and some with glass fronts to display my colored antique glass pieces that my mom gave to me.

The guest bedroom was my other closest. Just kidding. (Not really). The guest bedroom had bold contrast of color that I liked and I thought had the perfect balance of masculine and feminine.

What is a house in the Hollywood hills without a stunning view of the city? My designer, Kishani Perera created the perfect outdoor nook to enjoy the scenery.

The downstairs I turned into a large den perfect for watching movies and entertaining friends and family. Because of all of its windows this house was always filled with tons of gorgeous natural light.

My home office was one of my favorite rooms. I really loved the orchid wallpaper! From my desk I had the perfect view of the backyard.

The outdoor spaces were just as lovely as the indoor ones and absolutely perfect for entertaining. Being in Southern California we are able to utilize these areas almost year around.

I sold this house just a few months before Scott and I got married. I will admit I was a bit sad to sell, but I was so ready to start my future as his wife. Do you have a favorite design style? Do you like to mix and match like me?? Tell me everything!!!
