GOOD KARMA: Ride the Do Good Bus
Since giving back is a very important part of my mantra of being grateful and graceful, I’m always on the lookout for worthy causes to contribute to. The Do Good Bus certainly fits the bill.
Every month, the Do Good Bus travels around the streets of Los Angeles, transporting busloads of “do gooders” to surprise volunteer opportunities ranging from helping out at a Tijuana orphanage with Friends of El Faro (which just so happens to be one of my most beloved organizations) to feeding the homeless with Burrito Project. I just love the idea of secret locations, don’t you? What a great way to challenge your notions about volunteering and discover new causes! And even if you’re not in L.A., you can still help out by making a donation to cover things like gas, bus rentals and volunteer meals (although the Do Good Bus has been known to tour to other cities, so stay tuned…).
Don’t forget to leave a comment letting me know about the organizations that you find particularly meaningful. Maybe I’ll feature one of them on my next Good Karma post!
