Yesterday’s post was a recipe for feeding your body well in preparation for bikini season. Today’s post is an edible recipe too, but this time for the outside of your body … your feet!!

This incredibly simple to make DIY foot scrub is perfect for getting your tootsies sandal ready for summer and keeping them that way all season long!  The ingredients are pure and pack an ultra moisturizing punch to parched feet and calloused heels.  I use this scrub on my hands sometimes also, when they get really dry.

Sugar Foot Scrub

  • ¾ cup brown sugar (can be light or dark)
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup coconut oil
  • ½ cup grape seed oil
  • 6 sprigs of roughly chopped lavender

Add all items to a medium bowl and mix well.

This isn’t a precise recipe.  The most important thing to remember is that you have to incorporate the oil and the sugar together the best that you can.  You need to be extra patient and work the sugar completely into the oil.  If it feels too dry or isn’t sticking together, then you need to add more oil.  Too gooey of a mixture, add more sugar.

You can easily bring another layer of yummy to your scrub by adding a few drops of your favorite aromatherapy oil.  For this scrub, I chose to add a few sprigs of lavender from my Earth Day herb garden, which meant my ingredient gathering required no further travel than my kitchen! A tip for the “take this to the next level” sect, would be to play around with the recipe by trying different types of sugar to see which level of exfoliation suits you best.
