How To Wear The Western Trend

Okay so I wasn’t so on board when I saw that Western dressing was going to be a huge trend this season. But I’ve turned a corner. There are ways to do the look without looking like a cowboy. It doesn’t have to be so intimidating if you focus on the accessories.

Ever since Raf Simmons took over at Calvin Klein, he’s been using Western as a part of his vision. Phoebe Philo’s Celine also showed dresses with black cowboy boots last fall and revisited the trend again in the Spring.

Fendi and Isabel Marant have also taken a spin on the trend by using cowboy boots as the new “it” shoe.

Like I said above, I wasn’t on board with this trend but as soon as I spotted this dress, I wasn’t mad about it. I even FaceTimed my girlfriend and made her buy it on the spot. There’s a ruched detail on the stomach area so if you have any insecurities, it hides them immediately.

I also wanted to style this look with a messy braid. This gave it a little bit of a polished un-done done look. I’ve been obsessed with Jen Atkin’s collection with Chloe + Isabel for hair accessories.
