My Sunday Spa Beauty Routine

We've officially conquered the first holiday of the season and our skin is dehydrated and swollen and our hair is heat damaged and dry. If there's anything I like to do, it's to take a moment to take care of myself. It can be two minutes or two hours. Momma needs one day a week for momma. That's why I'm sharing what I do to keep my skin and hair hydrated and alive.

Whether it's in the midst of the holiday rush or just a normal weekend full of playdates and dinner parties, I need to take a day to reboot my skin. First and foremost, I start with taking a bath. Yes, a bath. You mommas know how little time we have to even take a shower so just lying in a tub is heaven itself.

While I'm in the bath, I pour Abra's Therapeutic Baths Muscle Therapy Soak into the warm water. It's great for muscle stiffness and just pure relaxation. Next up, I need to hydrate my color-treated hair. On the weekend, I really try to hydrate my hair since it's so over-processed from all of the shoots and events I go to. I swear by Phyto's Phytokeratine Ultra-Repairing Mask. I lather this while I'm soaking in the tub and then throw my hair up in a bun and let it do it's magic for about 10-30 minutes. I've also been known to sleep with a hair mask but let me warn you, it can get messy. So no while you're hanging out in the bath with hair hair mask going and your body soaking, lather on a strong face mask. I use Angela Caglia's Dream Exfoliant Mask. It has glycolic acid and I leave it on for about 10-15 minutes. It takes off all of your dead skin and leaves you with a bight and dewy glow. Next, up... my girl Shiva Rose! I've been a huge fan of her rose oil for a long time but she recently came out with a body scrub called Sea Siren. It's completely organic and works wonders on your skin.

So now once you're out of the tub, it's time to give you skin some R&R. I've just recently started to use a gadget I found called NuFace. And you guys... if you buy anything on this list, this should be it. I know it's on the pricier side but the way I look at it is the more you invest now, the less work you're going to have to do later and less money you'll spend in the long run. The NuFace is a microcurrent facial toning device. It's basically a mini facelift without the surgery. If you don't trust me on this, it's clinically tested and FDA cleared.

Next, you're going to need something to hydrate those alcohol drinking lips. Yes, I'm calling you out for all of the wine you drank on Thanksgiving! ;) I've talked about these before and I'm talking about them again because they're so good... Rodial's Dragon's Blood Lip Mask. They give instant moisture boost and smoothes your lips for smoother, younger looking lips.

Now I'm going to share my brand new favorite hero product. I talk to you guys about this a lot... I deal with hyperpigmentation and melasma and this has truly helped brighten my skin. I'm actually obsessed. I found these M-61 PowerGlow peel pads at Blue Mercury and gives you a facial in just one minute. They also offer some for those who have acne-prone skin, they have another option for you that has tee tree and witch hazel.  If you want something else on a less expensive side, you can opt for Ren Clean Skincare's Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial.

After you put on your peel, lather your face with a moisturizer. Again, I'm obsessed with m-61's Hydraboost Cream. It is the mack daddy of hydrating cream.

Now at the end of your at home spa day, lather on your eye cream. This is the best eye cream that I have ever owned... I'm not just saying that. Ever since I first bought this, I haven't gone back. It's by Natura Bisse and it's their Diamond Extreme Eye Cream. While you let the eye cream soak in, grab a lavender mask, I found mine on Amazon here. You can put it in the freezer or heat it up depending on what you need it to do.

My momma's always taught me that you have to take care of yourself first before you can take care of others. I'm a firm believer of that. Don't feel guilty to take a few minutes to recharge your body and your skin... you deserve it!
