Like all dog owners, I consider my little pooches part of the family. And because they are like little four-legged children, they are not exempt from any holidays. This Halloween, why not let them get in on the treating? I’m not talking about the traditional bone or kibble. I’m talking about festive, homemade pumpkin dog treats. I found this dog treat recipe online, and it turned out to be so, so, so simple. These are sure to keep our pups feeling included while we’re all indulging in our Halloween candy.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
  • 4 tbsp molasses
  • 4 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Mix the first 4 ingredients into a bowl, then add the rest of the ingredients and combine.
  • Bake for 25 minutes.
