Hair Care in a Hurry

It’s a mad, mad world out there people.  It can be hard to keep your tresses tamed.  Have no fear, I’m going to share a few tips and tricks from my book, The Everyday Supermodel on keeping your hair looking gorgeous.

No time?  No cash?  Still no excuses.  You can get an A-list blow-dry for $40 in 40 minutes, but there are even more ways you can stick to your budget and still take care yourself every once in a while.  Here’s a list of treatments that deliver results.  They are things you can do on your lunch hour for (almost) less than your lunch money, honey:

Blow-dry Bars.Drybar streamlined a service that’s been happening in salons everywhere for years.  Do you have temperamental hair? A secret:  almost no matter how hard up your hair is, these places are affordable and do a bang-up job styling.  There are also fun salons that have specialties, like the John Barrett Salon braid bar.  So boho chic.

Highlight Touch-Up:  You might not have time for a whole highlight session.  And you might need to save a little cash.  Did you know that you can cheat your color to extend the time in between?  Just as your colorist for a little touch-up.  It will take half the time and will be one-third the cost.

At-Home Help:  Rinse your hair with a solution of 1 part apple cider vinegar to 4 parts water.  This detoxifies and helps hair get rid of built-up product.  After your hair dries, put on a protein mask and let it sit for about fifteen to twenty minutes.  You can use a scoop of mayonnaise, and egg or even full-fat milk.  Rinse off and hair will be like a shiny new penny.

Speaking of blow-dry bars, I’ve had an amazing time thanks to Drybar launching my book from coast to coast!!  Thank you, Ali Webb!!  Check out a few of my favorite pics from the FAB events.
