DIY Face Mask: Honey and Oats

Ladies! I am here to make all of your beauty wishes come true with my two simple face mask recipes!  I have combination sensitive skin, so sometimes it can be really hard to find the right cleanser, exfoliator, moisturizer, toner, but I have finally found something that works wonders on my skin! It is all natural and can be used for various skin types. I mean … now you finally don’t have to break the bank on a whole product line that might not be right for you, which I have done time and time again. As you all know my fav, fav, fav snack is greek yogurt! Well, now it is also my latest beauty obsession.

So Greek yogurt is AH-mazing, because it has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties that help fade spots from aging as well as acne scars! The yogurt also contains lactic acid, which is a super gentle exfoliator. Its great for me, because my skin is so, so, so sensitive!

Then you just add a little honey, which does literally everything for you! It is a natural antibacterial which is awesome for acne treatment and prevention. It is also packed full of antioxidants to slow down the aging process and leave your complexion glowing. Lastly it will open up all your pores, so they’re ready to unclog quickly. If you’re skin is not super sensitive, you can add a little lemon to help prevent bacteria that causes acne.

Ingredients:

  • Greek Yogurt
  • Almond or olive oil
  • Honey
  • Lemon (Not for sensitive skin types)

Steps:

  • Mix 1 cup of Greek yogurt.
  • Add three drops of olive or almond oil.
  • Apply to face and leave on for 25 minutes.
  • Rinse and dry.

Your skin will be feeling a bit tight and stiff, so don’t forget to moisturize directly after! You can even use olive oil if you want to stay all natural!

#SupermodelSecrets: Make sure you eat one serving of greek yogurt a day!! The protein will not only make your skin firmer, but it will also smoothen out your complexion!

My second fav mask is made out of oatmeal! I love, love, love the dewy glow look right now and this oatmeal mask does just the trick! Make sure to leave it on for 20-30 minutes until it hardens. This way you have to massage it in gentle circular motion in order to exfoliate it off your face.  It is so, so, so great for people with sensitive or dry skin!

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup finely ground oats
  • 2 tablespoons whole-milk plain yogurt, preferably organic
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl.
  • Mix until it becomes a paste.
  • Spread over your face with both hands.
  • Rinse with warm water.
  • Pat your face dry.
