Clean, Non-Toxic Beauty Products I’m Using

Now more than ever we’re being more proactive and aware about what we purchase and put in our bodies. More recently, we’re taking notice of what we put on our bodies which is just as important as the food we put in. I’ve done my best to research the best clean beauty products out there.

Did you know that the FDA doesn’t have to approve beauty and skin care products before they hit store shelves? This doesn’t always mean that they’re harmful but we should definitely be mindful as a consumer, just make sure you always read the ingredients on the label.

First I’m going to talk about what it means to be a clean beauty product. It’s a non-toxic product made without a long list of ingredients that are linked to harmful health effects from hormone disruption, to cancer or even skin irritation. The term “clean beauty” embraces natural and man-made ingredients. So these are products that lack parabens, phthalates, PEGs, ethanolamines, chemical sunscreens, synthetic fragrance, BHT and BHA.

Even Sephora is giving their clean beauty stamp of approval. If you go on their website, you can filter your shopping needs by selecting “clean beauty.” I’ve done some trial and error with my fair share of clean beauty and I have finally found the products that I love and ones that work!

Kopari Deodorant– Deodorant is probably the most important to go natural in, in my opinion. There have been talks that there is a correlation between the aluminum and baking soda in deodorants and antiperspirants that lead to cancer. However, there aren’t any clinical studies that can prove it. I’m obviously not a doctor or a scientist but if there’s anything that I can do to prevent it, then I’m going to take that option. I’ve been using this deodorant for about three weeks now and I think I’ve finally finished the detox period. Although it’s been a process, it’s a small price to pay. Just be aware, this is a deodorant, not an antiperspirant. So you’re still going to sweat.

Tata Haper Resurfacing Mask– This mask has worked wonders for my skin! Many masks have sulfates in them which definitely help with acne, but it’s not good for you overtime. This mask from Tata Harper has a natural beta-hydroxy treatment that gives you a radiant complexion. I also like to use this as a spot treatment overnight when I have a pimple coming.

Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil – Every skincare routine needs a Vitamin C oil. If you’re going to invest in one that’s natural, this is the best one that I’ve seen and used. The vitamin C reduces the look of fine lines and wrinkles which leaves your skin smooth and brighter.

Drunk Elephant Jelly Cleanser– If you watch my YouTube channel, you’ll see that I’m a huge fan of gentle cleansers. I have extremely sensitive skin and I’m always on the hunt for gentle cleansers that also remove all of your makeup.

Summer Fridays Overtime Mask– Marianna Hewitt and Lauren Gores came out with yet another great product and I’m hooked. I get really flaky in the winter due to dry skin and this mask not only removes the dead skin cells but has a pumpkin and apricot seed powder that brightens your skin and gives a glow.

Youth The People Superfood Skin Reset Antioxidant Mask– I also had to include this mask on my list because I’m hooked on it. We eat kale, spinach and green tea to feed our bodies, so think about applying it on your face. The vitamins and minerals restore and rejuvenate your skin. Plus, it’s packed with hyaluronic acid to plump your face.

Youth The People Super berry Hydrate + Glow Oil– This antioxidant rich oil is great for these drier winter months. If you have extremely dry skin or just dull skin, you should incorporate this into your routine.

Tata Harper Restorative Eye Cream– As you can tell, I’m a huge fan of Tata Harper’s products. I wouldn’t use this for aging eyes, but I would for dry eyes. It’s hydrating but not greasy which is important when finding a good daytime eye cream.

Herbivore Botanicals Pink Cloud– Not only is this moisturizer highly Instagrammable, but it works. I love to use it in the day under my makeup because it isn’t greasy, oily or sticky. This calms my sensitive skin plus I love the rose scent.
